We have all tried home remedies using various products time to time for our skin or hair or for health benefits. There is one more magical ingredient which shows wonderful results. It can be used not only for beauty purposes but also as a fertiliser for plants.
The RICE WATER has amazing qualities as it is rich in Vitamin B and has a type of carbohydrate which helps in improving dead cells on the skin and improves hair texture and strengthens the roots. It is good especially for dyed hair. It is super easy to make and loaded with minerals and vitamins which can make your skin look younger, flawless, and have a glowing complexion. It is fantastic if this is used regularly on your hair to get super shiny hair.
I prefer the cloudy water which I get instantly from washing rice in a bowl. I wash the rice grains and store this cloudy water for use on my hair.
I also soak this washed rice in water for 30 mins and strain this water to be used later to wash my face. This starchy solution can be an amazing benefit to skin problems. It helps in minimising blemishes and gradually brightens the skin. Interestingly, rice water also has anti ageing properties. It has antioxidants which helps to maintain the elasticity of the skin. No wonder rice water is such an integral part of Japanese and Korean skincare beauty regime.
These days Korean skincare products are booming in the market and quite in demand. If you come across any K beauty product, you will most definitely find rice water in the ingredients.
Rice has a place in our lives not just on the dinner plate as a meal but also for beauty regimen and a healthy fertiliser for plants.
Rice water is a very good organic fertiliser for plants. The starch water has carbohydrates which helps the plants to store energy and when this water is poured in the soil it improves the soil condition and also the fertility of the soil. It has beneficial soil bacteria which helps the plants grow faster.
I have tried it myself. I poured this rinsed rice water to small plants and they grow so much faster. This gentle fertiliser does not hurt the roots. This water can be used to any type of plants and whenever watering is required. It contains nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus which adds growth to the plants.
These little seedling's growth will boost and it's impressive to see the quality of the plant too.
Not many people know that it can also be used as pest control. It reduces insects like fruit flies, plant lice and other pests on plants. Using fermented rice water and spraying them on the leaves helps the insects to get trapped in the sticky solution.
So next time you throw the rice water maybe you can find some good use for it :-)
