1) Homemade deodorant :- Baking soda could be used as a natural deodorant for the underarms, feet and anywhere else which has an odour. It has the ability to deodorise by bringing both acidic and basic odour molecules into an almost odour free state. So, how can we make a deodorant? It is super easy with just 3 ingredients. Combine 1 tspn of baking soda, 1 tspn of extra virgin coconut oil, 2 tspns of arrowroot powder (it's the best alternative to cornstarch especially for people with sensitive skin). Arrowroot helps to absorb moisture, and a few drops of essential oil of your choice..Mix this formula well and store in an airtight container. 

2)Fix smelly old musty books:- Baking soda absorbs bad odour from the air. Therefore it can also absorb bad odours in your books. Put 1 cup of baking soda in a plastic box with a lid. Place the book in it and close the lid. Leave the book in it for up to 3-4 days. After 4 days of checking the book, the odour should have disappeared. OR sprinkle baking soda on the mouldy pages of the book and leave it for a few days until the smell disappears. Just brush it off.

Make a solution using these ingredients.1 litre of water, 1 tspn of baking soda, 1 tspn of neem oil and 1 tsp of detergent. Mix it thoroughly and spray on plants weekly. For slugs and snails sprinkle baking soda on them and it will help you to get rid of them.

6) Clean garden tools, pots and garden furniture:- Mix 2 tspns of baking soda in water and add 2 tspns of detergent and mix well. Clean the tools and pots to get rid of any bacteria on it and give it a clean look. Spray this mix on furniture and wipe them off.

7) Sweeter tomatoes:- Sprinkle some baking soda around the tomato soil and not on the plant itself . The baking soda gets absorbed in the spoil and it reduces the acidity levels of the soil. By lowering the acidity levels, it makes the tomatoes sweeter. But it is recommended to test the soil alkaline level before you put baking soda because if the soil is fairly alkaline, then by putting baking soda you could altering the soil and thus getting a less desirable vegetable.

8) Handy cleaning agent for car seats:- Car seats can usually get dusty and start developing odour due to food crumbs settled on it, Sprinkle baking soda on the car seats and leave it for an hour. Use a vacuum to clean the baking soda residue. You can also use a damp cloth and clean the handle and arms with baking soda and it will remove dirt from the surfaces.
