General wellbeing has direct connection with the quality and amount of hair you have. To make your hair delightful, you need good washing, conditioning, good use of hair oil, proper brushing, and so on.
But did you know that using the wrong type of Hair brush and incorrect way of brushing can lead to more hair fall and damaging to the scalp?
Choosing the right bristles is important and the material you brush with do matter. Some hair may handle plastic but some may not if the hair follicles are already weak. Generally wide spaced bristles is best to detangle the hair and gentle to the hair unlike close spaced bristles which can not only break the hair but also cause damage to the hair follicles.
The scalp benefits from a good combing as it increases the blood circulation and promotes hair growth. But with flipping your head and brushing inside out is excellent to increase the blood flow to the hair follicles. Doing this twice a day at least will be a good boost to the hair.
Brushing hair when wet is never recommended. Hair is weak when wet and if it is brushed the hair is more prone for breakage. Conditioning your hair after shampoo and applying a good serum (especially for curly hair) makes hair softer and easier to manage. Applying serum before brushing is a good idea especially for frizzy hair which tangles easily.
Start brushing from the ends and gradually section by section work your way up to the roots. This will allow to gently ease out the interlocked hair and once reached to the scalp, it is easier as it is knot free and will not cause too much breakage.
You may use detangling spray on wet hair, another way to prevent breakage and split ends as well.
Avoid tying your hair if it not fully dry.
Take good care of your crown 😀
